I chose to start a running blog because I wanted to start keeping a log of my progress with my new found love of running. A friend of mine suggested to start a running blog and I thought what a great idea. Hopefully this will inspire and encourage me to keep improving and to set and reach for higher goals. I am still so new to all this and I am still trying to learn so any help, tips and tricks would be gratefully appreciated. So here I am... I have never been a runner until now. I hated to run growing up. It just plain hurt to run so I never did. Several years and a few surgerys later I decided while out on one of my daily walks around the block to run and see how far I could go. My first time running I went 1 mile and it felt great. By the second week I was up to 2 Miles and still going strong other then a few nagging aches and pains with my knees. From then on I have been hooked. I have come to find that I now love to run. I was meant to run. Of course there are days when I seriously question that statement but I think we all do at some point. There is this feeling you get( A runners high some call it) when running that is an amazing feeling and once you have experienced it you want to continue to experience it. It's when your running and all of a sudden you feel yourself transform as if into a machine. All your muscles are working together as one and you feel strong and powerful and you feel as if you are gliding through the air and the running becomes effortless. It's an amazing feeling that only those who have experienced it can relate. It doesn't happen often but once you experience it you have to have it again. I have loved watching and feeling my body change and transform and become stronger. I am a better mother and wife when I run. You get to experience the outdoors and nature in a whole diffrent light. It's time for just me to do what I want to do and escape from the craziness of life for just a little while to think, ponder, meditate, cry, laugh, sing whatever I am feeling at the time, and I come back exhilaerated, rejuvinated, happier, calmer, and more patient. Of course this is after I recover from the sheer exhaustion. This is why I run!!!
